Hyprfall: a jungle platformer native to Omarchy
Remember the summer of ’82? One stiff red button, a thousand screens of jungle, and a crocodile that still owes you an apology. Hyprfall is that spirit as a native Omarchy app: swing on ethernet cables, hop the anti-AI garden gnomes, and find 32 treasures before the clock runs out.

What you are playing
You get twenty minutes, three lives, and 255 screens of jungle arranged in a ring. Each screen comes from one byte walked with a reversible 8-bit LFSR, so walking left brings back exactly the screens you passed. Same jungle every game; learn it like it is 1983.
Between you and the loot: tarballs, a purple pool of node_modules, rolling logs that knock points off, a python that will kill you (should have used Ruby), dumpster fires, and a pit of garden gnomes waving signs like RTFM, STOP VIBING, and NO AI. When they are quiet, their hats are stepping stones. When they yell, get off.
The signature move is the ethernet cable. Jump for the plug, ride it across, and let go with ↓ or Space. Hold the direction you want and the swing flings you that way. Fumble it and enjoy the tar. Underneath, a tunnel lets you skip three screens up top — watch for firewalls and the bug that works on its machine.
Treasure is worth chasing: Golden Keycaps, Rubies, Arch Idols, and Hypr Crystals. Find all 32 before 0:00.

Native to Omarchy, not bolted on
Hyprfall runs on Quickshell — the same engine as the Omarchy shell. No Electron, no browser, no emulator. On Omarchy there is nothing extra to install.
The whole jungle wears your theme: canopy green, swamp blue, tee logo accent, gnome hats and coats. Run omarchy theme set mid-game and it repaints while you play. Skin, hair, and wood stay fixed so the hero (long wavy hair, beard, black tee) stays recognisable on every theme.
It opens as a centered floating 16:10 window on Hyprland; launch again and it focuses the one already open. F11 goes fullscreen. Vim keys work: h/l to run, k/j to climb.
There is an original adventure-rock soundtrack and a dozen sound effects, all generated from scratch by a little synth in the repo. High scores live in ~/.local/state/hyprfall/save.json.
Grab v0.1.0
Packages for Arch/Omarchy, Debian, and Fedora ship on the v0.1.0 release. Each package was installed on its distro and the game run headless (hyprfall --selftest) before the release went out.
Or install the .pkg.tar.zst, .deb, or .rpm from the release page, then launch Hyprfall from the app launcher or run hyprfall. Away from Omarchy you need a Wayland desktop with Quickshell; without an Omarchy theme it falls back to a built-in Tokyo Night palette.
MIT licensed. An affectionate parody — nothing from any 1982 cartridge, and the protesting gnomes are a joke at a debate, not at anyone in it. Some of them make good points, and they all have excellent signs.
